1965 documented beaded dress by Mollie Parnis
This is an extraordinary 1965 documented beaded dress by Mollie Parnis. The same exact dress resides in the Mets permanent costume collection and was donated by Mollie Parnis herself. This dress is finely embroidered in silk flowers and gold and silver lamé threads. The beading on the neckline matches around the cuffs. The dress is made from a cotton net fabric. It snaps up the back. The original matching slip contained the designer label, and has been lost to time. This dress is extremely special and is a true work of art. I had the beading professionally restored. This dress is meant for an extra small to small. I would suggest that it is best for a 25"-27" waist, for the best look and fit. The waistline is meant to have some room and not be form fitted to the body. My dress form is a 24.5” waist for reference.
